Dear Lse Class of ’77 classmates:
As it appears Mary has beaten me to the
Blog, suffice to say a good time was had by all Saturday night! The
event far exceeded our expectations. We (the reunion committee) would
like to thank each and every classmate and guest that attended, because
you really made the night happen. You people that traveled many miles
to be at the reunion party are crazy - but we love you for it! Special
thanks go out to Patty Raun! The reunion committee had the idea of
having a classmate speak about life after LSE these 30 years, and Patty
was our choice. I personally think that should did a wonderful job, and
we made the right choice.
Preliminary numbers are showing that we had
approximately 180 folks attend the event on Saturday. Approximately 130
of those were classmates, and we sold 70 picture books. Speaking of
picture books, you can still purchase one by E-mailing
info@lse77.com. We’ll get the details to you from there. Also if
you have digital photos that you’d like included in the book, E-mail us
and let us know. Sometimes the size of those digital photos become
prohibitive to E-mail, so we can discuss how to best get them to us
prior to publishing the book.
We’re going to keep the Web blog (http://blog.lse77.com)
up for another 5 to 10 years so don’t worry about that. Feel free to
post your comments about the reunion there. If they are bad comments
(no way) that you’d rather not have posted on the Web blog, send them to
us directly at
info@lse77.com. Also, if you’d like to be an “Author” to the Web
blog let us know. All it requires is a user name, password, and about 2
minutes of instruction. From there you can create new “Entries” and
“Categories”. You can also post digital photos and edit comments.
Luckily there hasn’t been too much to edit so far. Most of us are done
using the “F” word except when appropriate.
As a final thought, I
agree with Mary in that we really seemed to have a special group of
people in our graduating class, and those relationships just seem to get
better like a fine wine. We’d like to say see you in 5 years, but it
would take a lot of peer pressure, and maybe a case of that fine wine to
do another party in 2012. We hope that your travels back to where you
came from were safe and enjoyable. I personally appreciate all the
wonderful comments I received on Saturday night from almost everyone
that attended. I was flabbergasted (is that really a word) by the good
feedback, and the reunion committee was very proud to have put together
such a quality event.
In ending I’d like to
say the there are a couple of committee members that went
under-recognized. Pam Pollard Moodie really did a bunch of work. She
was in North Carolina all last week delivering her daughter to college,
and she still managed to have a check-in list, name tags, volunteers at
registration, and do the whole Treasurer thing that nobody wants to do.
Thanks Pam! Also Scott Glen always seems to be there when you need to
throw a party. He was really a driving force at getting everything
done. Scott we thank you also for the MC work and the slide show.
Scott got married a couple of weeks ago and had gotten a new computer
for Christmas. You used it well Scott!
Thanks again to all,
and to all a good-night. We hope to hear from you soon!
